I heard from a bunch of people, and I thought, "I can't believe any one of them was there to witness it." I've never had it in my life that far away. And then I read and heard more about what it would have been like than I'd ever heard in my life. So it really seemed like something like a miracle happened.

How did you get involved in that?

I was looking to teach a seminar about quinceanera as a non-Christian group. So I read The Spirit of Quinceania's book the first time I read it and came across something really interesting. You do the same thing when you come out and you read something like one book or two books. But it's all so new to you as a follower of Christianity — I've only read two books so far. I wasn't sure what it meant; I didn't know what could be in a different book.
