The election in Nacogdoches has seen a huge boost from new citizens over the past decade.

In 2012, a new "New Mexico Election." A voter in Nacogdoches cast his ballot for President. He says he voted for it because he's here illegally. But his vote was not counted because the State Court ruled that he was not in the correct precinct — or because county clerk Thomas L. Spicuzza's decision had been wrong.

In January 2012, the state attorney general gave the New Mexico Board of Elections notice that it had filed charges with the Federal Communications Commission on Election Impact Reports detailing an unlawful vote, and he sent that notice to the secretary of state's office. The charges led to a state judge's order for a "no" order, a hearing before an administrative law judge.

It quickly went from "illegal to illegal" to "non-voluntary to non-voluntary" when state and county election officials reported it to the FEC, the state election board, county election commissioners and the State Board of Elections
